About

Thea de Boer

Owner Thea de Boer started her button shop in a small building on Wolvenstraat. In 2001, she closed her doors after more than fourteen years. After traveling extensively and gathering inspiration, Thea de Boer returned four years later to a beautiful, spacious building on one of Amsterdam's most beautiful canals, near the Nine Streets.

Just in time, because buttons are back in fashion. Here, buttons are sold in all shapes and sizes, from mother-of-pearl to bone, from burnt wood to glass, and everything in between. Nothing is as important as individualism and trends in today's fashion, so it's all about the details.

Thea: "I think people today want to be different; they want to stand out, and I want to respond to that feeling with my unique button collection." In addition to the button collection, the store has a beautiful range of stunning items from all over the world.

Anna Pavlova

One afternoon in October, Russian artist Anna Pavlova, following in the footsteps of many painters before her, chose the Vrouwenregt in Delft as the subject for her painting, immortalizing this unique location on canvas. This was (literally) a golden opportunity to acquire an attractive painting fresh from the palette knife. The result can now be admired in the gallery. Anna studied in Moscow and has had exhibitions in Paris and Amsterdam. She is so fascinated by Dutch city life that we can expect a rich harvest of Dutch works. Anna's work has a style all its own, in which the free interpretation of perspective reflects the dynamics of the environment. Subtly chosen colors give the canvases a warm appeal, creating a surprisingly realistic image of the artist's experience. The world will be hearing more from her!
